170 Ford Mustang 6 Cylinder
The 170 Ford 6 cylinder engine was short lived in the
Mustang. However, in 1964 1/2 and very early 1965 this engine was
standard equipment. The block, head, intake manifold, exhaust
manifold, air cleaner, water pump, heck most of the parts were
directly out of the Falcon line. A dependable little engine it lacked
a little power so shortly into 1965 Ford started using the 200 6
cylinder in its place.
