Lucky, lucky, lucky! That’s how I’m feeling today. A few months ago I was lucky enough to be allowed to look through a collection of parts that a Gentleman in Colorado had gathered over the years. I’d love to tell his story here but I haven’t asked if it was okay, so that will have to wait. But, he had passed away a few months before and I’m sorry to say I never got to meet him in person. To my delight there was Paxton / McCullough Supercharger in his collection! The only place I’d ever seen one before was at a car show!
After having that Supercharger on my mind for a month or so I realized that it would be a perfect addition to Project LOGO, the car we are building to match our SMP logo. I finally gathered up enough courage to ask the Gentleman’s daughter if she would consider selling it to me and she said YES!
After a few weeks I was able to go pick it up last night. All I can say is wow! This really is the kind of piece that you build a car around, and that’s what we intend to do. We have a just rebuilt 302 ready for the car and now a Supercharger to go on it. To be honest I didn’t know much about the Paxton Supercharger but there is tons of information on the web about it and I even found the original manual online this morning. For those of you who are more familiar with these it is a SN57-B.
You’ll be hearing much more about this build and this Supercharger but for now all I can say is THANKS for letting me buy it and I promise it is going to a good home!
